Four students from the University of Auckland School of Architecture team up to participate in the TRANS-FoRM-ERS competition for Architecture Week 2009. Together, they are Blow-Up-Gertrude - a design project that focuses on inflatable and pneumatic architecture through a one-day installation on the October 16th.
Our project is inspired by the characteristics of the jellyfish and the properties of circulation to simulate the effects of being in an underwater world. The transformative effect is induced by the flexibility of the structure which will be changeable throughout the entire day.
For more information, do not hesitate to email us on blowupgertrude@gmail.com, and we will be more than happy to answer your queries.
